There is an increasing need for brick tinting and brick weathering within the UK. Most of the time, it comes down to the fact that your simply unable to find the perfect match. However, even if you do manage to find the same brick used on your original masonry structure, you will still have to battle production defects, batch colour variations, and even weathering (as your bricks have been outside and exposed to the elements).

The bottom line is that your new bricks will likely look different from any existing brickwork, which makes brick tinting and brick weathering essential parts of the process in order to get the perfect match on many properties.

Mason Customer Care brick tinting service can help individual bricks to blend in with the rest of your property and follows a careful process that is completely safe for your building. We only ever use brick tint that is breathable and does not damage brick in the way that paint does.

The brick tinting solution is not a paint, it is a mixture of coloured dyes combined with an acrylic based and potassium solution. Each mix is different and bespoke to the brickwork being matched to and is mixed on site, a sample area being completed first in order to test and trial to get the perfect colour blend.

Several different blended dye solutions can be used in combination with each other in order to match multi coloured blends.
Pretty much all bricks can be tinted. The only issues come with extremely hard bricks such as smooth facing bricks or engineers. These bricks have a low absorption rate and are very dense, therefore a slightly different binding agent (acrylic based) needs to be used and in some cases, these can leave a gentle shine to some facing bricks.

However, this can be clearly identified before any tinting takes place and advised. They can still be treated.
